About the Project
As part of the Marketing and Communication team, it was requested that I produce an animation that would be used to highlight what Faculty of Continuing Education at the University of Montreal (UdeM) is about, what the courses are, and the services provided to their current and future students.
My Approach
I conducted extensive research about the faculty to understand who they are and how they prefer to be represented amongst themselves and to other faculties in the university as well as to their students. My comprehensive research also assisted in my decisions for the look and feel of the animation. I concluded that kinetic typography would best suit this project since there was to be a lot of information (text). I identified the university’s use of various vibrant colours in all their media such as posters, booklets and websites and I implemented a similar approach to the design of the website. Next, I extracted all the important content (text) that would be used and presented my ideas and approach to the team. Upon getting the approval of the supervisor, I went ahead and started sketching the storyboard. After getting the storyboard approved, I started producing the final product.
